The older my children get, the more often we don’t see eye to eye. Some days call for Lunchables Organic to prove there is at least one thing we can both agree on! Far gone are the days when I was able to pick out the clothes my children would wear every morning, what they would eat for breakfast, lunch & dinner, their schedules for the day and all other choices that I wanted to make for them. Now that they are walking, talking, getting ever-so-smarter-by-the-day humans… We often don’t see eye to eye on what their day will look like. Clothes need to match? No. That doesn’t matter at all. Let’s go for comfort and favoritism. My son believes that basketball shorts are the only form of shorts that should ever be worn. Pants are of the devil and should only be worn under complete protest. If we even choose to wear a shirt it will be one of two shirts that are our favorites. Doesn’t matter when the last time they were washed. If they pass his sniff test, then it must be clean and wearable! Somehow my schedule is never convenient for him. He just doesn’t understand why he has to be completely dressed and breakfast eaten before playing on his iPad or with his toys. He questions the evilness of a dishwasher that he unloaded yesterday that would dare to be needing unloading again!?!?! (I must agree that I feel it is evil too in this case… but don’t tell him!)
We are leaving in 10 minutes. Means to him that he should wait 9 minutes before putting his shoes on…. The daily repetitiveness of certain things seems suspicious to his developing mind. Brushing our teeth, making our beds, putting dirty clothes in the hamper, daily reading time, homework, chores…. all suspiciously ridiculous things that should be questioned daily. Let me clarify… And assure you that he is one awesome kid! He loves life with a vibrant ferocity and a beat of his own theme song. I love him for it. It can be frustrating some days to not see eye to eye on the little things of daily life. But when we find something we agree on… It’s pure bliss! Lunchtime is a happy moment of peace and agreement when he has Lunchables Organic. The smile on his face makes me so happy! Lunchables Organic is USDA certified organic and free of artificial preservatives, flavors or colors.* I feel good about serving this delicious organic lunch combination and he goes bonkers over making his own pizza! Whether he takes a Lunchables Organic to school or has one at home, I always get a huge smile and a big hug. Keep it up kid… You will work me over on that new gaming system with all the extra smiles….

Hurricane Harvey hit us hard and fast the weekend of Jimmy’s birthday and scheduled party. We had no idea just how crazy the storm would be. Jimmy was so sad that his party at SkyZone had to be canceled, but quickly smiled when he found out we would just be rescheduling!
When it’s your child’s birthday you want everything to be perfect! And while I am not able to stop a hurricane, we were able to make sure Jimmy had a ton of fun at his party! Read more
Make homework time a cinch and create a mobile homework station complete with Goldfish® crackers for a snack! My husband and I were just looking at the calendar this weekend and realized we are a MONTH away from school starting!!! How did summer fly by so quickly? School supplies, backpacks, and all things Back-to-School are popping up everywhere. Soon the routines of the school year will need to be put back into place. We have really enjoyed the summer, but I am determined to be prepared for the upcoming school year. With two in preschool, two in Kindergarten, a second grader and a fourth grader, I know I will need to be organized and ready to tackle before and after school routines. Last year was slightly chaotic when it came to getting homework done. The boys were always scrambling looking for crayons, pencils, erasers, glue, and other supplies necessary for completing their assignments. I don’t want to repeat that chaos. So I created this easy mobile homework station that can simple roll out of the closet to the table whenever homework time is ready. It’s loaded with all the supplies they could need for homework assignments; down to their favorite Goldfish® for a snack while they work! All you need to create a mobile homework station is a rolling cart, several small baskets or buckets, school supplies like markers, pencils, erasers, glue, etc… paper, and anything else that your child usually uses to complete his homework. I like when things are clearly marked so the children have no excuse to put things back exactly where they are supposed to! I found some cute clips and labeled them with tape. Now they can get out exactly what they need and put it back in the container they got it from and place it back on the cart with ease. No excuses for a mess! I honestly love homework time most days! It’s a great time to sit at the table with my kids and work closely with them. Asking them questions about their day, what they are learning, sharing our Goldfish® crackers, and telling jokes to each other. We have more than once fallen off chairs laughing from the silly things my kids say! I feel ready to conquer the afternoon back to school routine with this homework station! It’s one more thing checked off the list and ready to create a great start to the new school year! Happy Back to School, KeikilaniRead more
