Simple Savory Sweet Potatoes

I am not really a fan of the Marshmallow Sweet Potato dish at Thanksgiving or the Pecan crusted one… So, I came up with this simple and yummy Sweet Potato dish and I make it all year! Sweet potatoes are a great healthy side for dinner all year long.

Simple Savory Sweet Potatoes
This is such an easy side dish and is a great alternative to the traditional marshmallow sweet potato side dish at Thanksgiving. Perfect for a weeknight or a Holiday.

Ingredients
  1. 3 large Sweet Potatoes
  2. 2 Tbsp. Butter
  3. 1/3 C. Brown Sugar
  4. 1/2 Tsp. Seasoning Salt
  5. 1/4 Tsp. Black Pepper
  6. 2 Tbsp. Water or Chicken Stock
Instructions
  1. Peel & dice sweet potatoes into bite size pieces. Place in pot and cover with water. Boil until just fork tender. In a large skillet melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, seasoning salt, pepper & water. Simmer until combined and thickened. Drain sweet potatoes and toss in butter mixture. Coat potatoes in butter mixture. Heat until glazed. Serve hot. Enjoy!

Garlic & Butter Green Beans
Take your fresh green beans up a notch with garlic & butter. Our family loves this quick and yummy side dish for dinner!

Ingredients
  1. 2 C. fresh Green Beans (ends trimmed)
  2. 1 Tbsp minced Garlic
  3. 2 Tbsp Butter
  4. Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Place green beans in a microwave steaming bag. Cook for five minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over med-high heat. Toss in green beans and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Salt & pepper to taste. Serve & Enjoy!
