What seemed like a fantastic idea a few weeks ago is quickly becoming intimidating and honestly slightly overwhelming when I think about it!
Our family is no stranger to Road Trips. We made two round trips from Detroit to Florida in the last year. We even did two trips to Atlanta the year before that. Yes. We have been there, done that. Survived. Got the T-shirt….
So, why is driving from Detroit to Minnesota making me feel so woozy? Well, it’s because, Jon is staying home! It’s just going to be the kids, my sister and I on this trip. My husband is a machine and can drive and drive and drive. We are good team. He drives. I sit in the back and keep the kids entertained. We had a system.
(One of the best parts of a road trip is CHICK-FIL-A!!! We LOVE it!)
(Jordan is my carseat hater! He is doing better… but he has a limit…)
This time I can’t sit in the back. We are driving my sisters car. And the three boys will be nicely stacked together in the backseat. And I am questioning… what order do I seat them? Who is the least likely to pick on who. Which do I need the easiest access to from the front passenger seat?
I no longer have the advantage of the extra room in our Mountaineer for lots of toys. Now I need to be very selective and plan out very wisely my choices of items brought on this 11+ hour each way trip!
Don’t get me wrong! I am excited! I can’t wait to see all my extended family at the family reunion! (Some of them I haven’t seen since I was 10!) I think I will be more confident with some research and advice.
This was my best idea of the last trip! Let them put stickers all over themselves! STICKER-POX!
I have been perusing Pinterest in search of Tip & Tricks from other mommies who have survived road trips. But I need your advice! HELP! I don’t have long before this adventure and need to get serious planning going!!! So, PLEASE, share your wisdom and experience!
Yours Desperately,
