Let’s face it. Chicken can sometimes get a little boring…Even though there are a billion ways to cook chicken…
Weird fact about me: I don’t like the taste of chicken. Chicken MUST have lots of flavor for me to enjoy it. Marinate it or Season it, Baby! Don’t like it plain!
My husband really loves Outback. While he normally chooses a steak every time we go out, he loves the Alice Springs Chicken they serve at this yummy establishment. I decided to create my own version of this explosion of flavors, chicken dish.
Grab yourself a few chicken breasts, some bacon and mushrooms and you will be salivating and ready to dig in real soon!
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- seasoning salt & pepper to taste
- 6 slices Bacon, cooked & crumbled
- 2 cans Mushrooms
- 1 cup Colby-Jack Cheese, shredded
- 3 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 tbsp A1 Steak Sauce
- Place chicken breast between plastic wrap and pound flat one at a time. Cut breasts in half. Season with seasoning salt & pepper. Heat cast iron skillet with 1 tbsp oil. Cook chicken breasts until brown on each side and cooked through.
- In a small pan, sauté mushrooms in 1 tbsp butter until brown. When chicken is cooked through, place on a sheet pan. Combine dijon mustard and steak sauce. Layer sauce, bacon crumbles, mushrooms, and cheese onto chicken. Place in oven under broiler on low for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
Ps. What’s your favorite chicken dish?

That looks simply delicious. I love anything with mushrooms, however my husband cannot eat them. Thanks for sharing.. pinning it for later (without mushrooms of coarse).

Looks delicious!! I’ll have to remember this one for when hubby is traveling (he doesn’t like mushrooms…).

Becki,
It’s super easy to leave out the mushrooms! I have a few family members that love it with no mushrooms. 😉

That sounds and looks great – I am a huge fan of Outback. I like that the recipes doesn’t seem complicated either!
