One of the best parts of being a mom is watching your children discover the world. Seeing the eyes of my babies light up as they discover new and exciting things that honestly, I myself take for granted. Things like, colors, and songs, and lights, and rolling wheels. All SUPER fascinating to a little one.
I think playtime learning is the best kind of learning for children. Providing little ones with the toys that encourage imagination and discovery is so important. My two little twin girls (who are turning 18 months!!!) are just blossoming with all kinds of new and exciting discoveries. Their vocabulary is just exploding with new words. “I Stuck” “Socks” “Bobble” (Bottle) “Drink” and More!
I cannot believe how developed their fine motor skills are also becoming. They are learning to use a fork and spoon and open latches. They are smart little boogers. And when I say little boogers… I mean boogers! They climb and explore EVERY nook and cranny and furniture they possibly can. I NEED toys that will engage their little curious minds. Our newest favorite toy is the VTech Sit-to-Stand Ultimate Alphabet Train! (Psst…. Giveaway at bottom of post for this TRAIN!!!)
VTech® toys are PERFECT for my little girls who are so eager to discover the world. We have totally gotten on the learning train with VTech! VTech as a company uses an expert panel which researches exactly what children need and at what age certain milestones should be met. I appreciate that this company goes over and above when developing toys which will not only engage my child in play, but also encourage them to develop and reach milestones age appropriately.
VTech’s Expert Panel and Milestones:
· The Expert Panel is compiled of six experts including, Dr. Lise Eliot, Early Childhood Mental Development Expert, who collaborated with VTech to develop the Milestones resource
· The milestones are broken down by ages that range from newborn to nine years old
· Each age range is broken down by three categories of development:
o Language and Cognitive
o Social and Emotional
o Physical and Motor
· The categories explain different characteristics and developments that your child is faced with at a specified age and is then followed by recommended products that best cater to your child
-The Sit-to-Stand Ultimate Alphabet Train has 10 different activities for the girls to play while learning letters, numbers, colors and more!
-The train encourages building motor skills with six manipulative features including a storybook, clock, gears and 13 double-sided letter blocks that the girls can plug into the side of the train to learn letters or pop them into the top of the train which shoots them into the caboose. (They love that part right now!)
-The train coverts to three stages. The first for sitters and little ones learning to stand. Attach the caboose to the engine to make a fun riding toy as they learn new skills. Finally, the caboose converts into a wagon they can fill with toys and pull along to develop gross motor skills.
I must tell you that not only the girls were fascinated with this train, but also the two 3 year old boys! They had a hard time waiting for the girls to let them have a turn when we first introduced it to them. The train sounds and manipulative features had them fascinated just as much as the girls! You will definitely want to visit VTech on their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter for great learning tips and more information on their awesome toys!
I am so excited to let you know that you can ENTER FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN a VTech Sit-to-Stand Ultimate Alphabet Train!!!! I know your kids will LOVE it!
Good Luck!
Getting on the Happy Learning Train!

This is a great toy for kids to learn and have fun at the same time, and as they grow this toy will still be enjoyable and educational. I think VTech did a great job like always. I wish my kids were still this little just so I can buy it, well I guess I’ll have to wait on my grandchildren to come along lol
