“A simple and quick appetizer made on the stovetop with pantry items and little smokies. Stovetop Saucy Little Smokies Sausages are the perfect easy party food!”
There is something about eating food before eating more food that is just so…. Well, AWESOME!!! That is basically what appetizers are. Am I right? When appetizers are set out, I know that I can fill my plate with amazing little bites of delicious food and very soon I will be filling an even BIGGER plate with MORE food! Whoever thought of this is a genius!
When I am going to throw a party with lots yummy food or put together a spread of appetizers, I look for quick, simple, and a recipe with ingredients I have in my pantry. Who wants to go to the store for special ingredients just for an appetizer? Nope. Ain’t got time for that! I just want to open my fridge and pantry and throw a bunch of stuff in a pan and be done! (Like my Venison BBQ Meatballs or Loaded Philly Cheesesteak Fries)
There are quite a few recipes out there for these little smoky sausage appetizers that can be done in the crockpot. I honestly don’t usually want to pull out my crockpot for these little guys. So I made a recipe that can be quickly done on the stovetop in a sauce pan. And it’s amazing! The kids love them. The husband loves them. And I can’t get enough of them either. (oh. And the guest love them too!)

- 2 14 oz packages Little Smokies Sausages
- 2/3 cup Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Mustard
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 Tbsp Corn Starch
- 2 Tbsp Water
- Whisk ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, water and cornstarch together in a medium saucepan until well incorporated.
- Add sausages and stir to cover sausages with sauce.
- Bring to a boil.
- Turn to Low and simmer for 20 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
Those would be prefect for game day! My family would love these.
