If you are new to my All My Good Things, I just wanted to take a little bit to stop and have little coffee date to get to know you. Or if you have been stopping by for a while, I wanted to take a moment to catch up on life. It can get a bit crazy around here. And I know, that you only see the cropped pictures of our life through my blog. Hopefully, these little coffee dates will let you see a little more of the “un-cropped” version that is my every day unstoppable chaos of craziness! And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
On the Blog
It’s been a busy month of writing and working for me. I truly enjoy writing, cooking, and sharing my life with you. I am so blessed to have you as a reader. And I love the new friendships that we are making! Every comment is special and I hope that you have a little bit of a laugh reading about the antics of my kids.
The two most popular posts this month were The Big Game Dippers with Whipped Blue Cheese Dip and Pineapple BBQ Dip and my Hearty Venison Stew has been a favorite of my readers. I think with the last football game coming up we are all excited about the good food we are going to eat!
I shared a little “Behind the Scenes” picture of my kitchen in blogger action. It is a bit crazy and crowded. Please, don’t mind the mess! Hahahaha.
The Kiddos
So, as you probably know now, we have six kids. And they have me rolling with laughter on a daily basis with the crazy things they come up with. This week on the way home from school, Jimmy (5 years old) very seriously asked me this question:
“Mom? When we die…Do we become Santa’s elves? Because I would really like to be one of his elves.” “I do know Jesus. And we go to heaven if we know Jesus. But do you think I could be an elf first?” ~Jimmy
I seriously had to hold my breath to keep from bursting out laughing! He had really been thinking about this one! Of course, the seven year old, know-it-all brother (Jayden) corrected him before I could that we just go to heaven. And Santa doesn’t need anymore elves. It was a hard blow… But Jimmy took it okay! HAHAHAHA!!!
The twin girls are 19 months and driving me CRAZY by stripping completely naked every five minutes. I am NOT exaggerating! I have done everything except duct tape their diaper to their little butts! They are so clever. They will stop at nothing to get out of their clothes. They even go as far as helping one another when needed. Twins that tag team are never a good thing for a momma!
Mom Survival
I must admit that I am drinking 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Yes. I know. I shouldn’t be. But I love it! Especially when I can drink more than a few sips when it is still hot!
Cooking is really my therapy. When I am in the kitchen…I am in my element. I love the challenge of coming up with new recipes. Jon has upped his challenge with starting a n0 carb diet for 45 days. He asked me to join him, but I sadly have no will power to say no to pasta for 45 days!
We purchased a new Gel Infused Memory Foam Topper for our king bed. Oh. My. Goodness. It is AMAZING!!! If you have been thinking about getting a memory foam topper for your bed… You NEED to! It has made such a difference for us and getting a good nights sleep!
I just wanted to thank you again for stopping by! If you have a question for me, please, email me or comment any time! I hope we have one of these coffee dates again soon!
Happy Coffee in my Cup!

So, tell me how your week has been?!
What were you making in the first pic? It looked like waffle cones with sprinkles – yum!
It’s a for Chocolate Chip Canolli Cones! SOOOO good!
Lol…I love that your son wanted to be one of Santa’s Elves. That’s great! Don’t you always wonder how their minds work? It’s truly a mystery! My grandson is almost 5 and he still hates wearing clothes. He prefers to sit around in his underwear which makes us crazy since we live in Michigan and it gets darn cold. We sit in layers and just looking at him makes me cold. We actually worried about him staying dressed when he started preschool but so far so good. They come off though the minute he gets home. Lol It definitely sounds like you’ve got your hands full with six but it’s great that you keep your sense of humor. Thanks for sharing.
We live in Michigan too! So I totally know what about it being way too cold to be naked!LOL
Hahahaha! I can totally hear Jimmy AND Jaydon! 🙂
Love this.
Love how personal this post was, it really allowed me to get to know you in a new way which was awesome. I completely understand what you are saying about coffee though – too many great flavors to choose from!
I must have a memory foam like that soon! Seems like an awesome one to have for a good night sleep!
It’s amazing!
That is so cute about your son wanting to be an elf. The kids say the cutest things.
Love the behind-the-scenes picture of your kitchen while working on a blog post! Impressed by the effort you made to get just the right angle for your photos! Keep up the great work!
