Today I am sharing tips for your trip to the waterpark. If you haven’t planned an epic adventure at Wet ‘n’ Wild Splashtown yet, be sure to plan one soon!
I can say with confidence that the highlight of our summer was going to Wet ‘N’ Wild Splashtown!
Every single one of my kids had a blast while on our Splashtown adventure! It was our first outdoor waterpark experience, but I guarantee it will not be our last!
Having never taken my family to a waterpark, I was not sure what to expect or what all to bring. Now that we have had our epic day, I am already planning our next trip and making mental notes on what I would do differently or the same next time.
Of course, I had to share these tips with you, so you can have an epic day with your family!
Here are my 8 Tips for your next trip to the Waterpark:
Rent a Locker You will be going from slide to ride to pool to treehouse all day long. You do NOT want to be dragging all your belongings with you every time you head to a different spot in the park! Rent a locker and be worry free about your belongings. Please, remember to leave your valuables at home.
Sunscreen I was a little ahead of the game with sunscreen on our Waterpark adventure day and applied the first layer before we left the house. That saved a lot of wrangling the kids when they were excited to just get in the water! Make sure you reapply throughout day. Oh, and don’t forget to apply some to yourself and your spouse!
Pack a Cooler with Water Check with your waterpark before you go. Wet ‘n’ Wild allows small coolers full of water to be brought to the park. Texas heat is no joke! Even in the water you can be dehydrated. Be sure to take breaks from all of the attractions to rehydrate.
Waterproof Phone Case This is the one I did NOT think of! I saw a few different types of waterproof phone cases that other waterpark guests had brought. This one was by far my favorite. I will definitely have one by the next time we go.
Goggles Waterparks have a lot of chlorine in the water to keep it clean for everyone, but it can be a bit harsh on the eyes. We brought the kids goggles to keep their little eyes from stinging from all the chlorine.
Camera Capturing your epic adventure should be a priority! I used my phone camera, but if your phone doesn’t have a high resolution or function well in the heat, be sure to bring a camera that can. Waterproof or underwater cameras would be great for the waterpark!
Sunglasses and Hat Hopefully, your day at the waterpark is gorgeous weather with the sun shining brightly and wisps of clouds in the very blue sky! We had a perfect, sunny summer day, but my eyes were thankful for the sunglasses I brought! The water is very reflective and the sunglasses kept me from having to squint all day. My husband brought his hat to give extra protection from the sun as well.
Towels, Flip Flops, & Change of Clothes This may seem like a no brainer, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget the simple things when you are planning the day for the whole family. I highly encourage you to wear flip flops when walking around the park to protect your feet. And our change of clothes consisted of coverups and t-shirts for this trip, but I would pack full changes of clothes if we had a longer drive after our day at the waterpark.

We just got back from a water park trip and I totally wish I had 1. rented a locker and 2. had a waterproof phone case, the kind with the neck strap is awesome. Totally doing that next time. We hope to make one more visit before summer is over!

All great tips I would be clueless on what to expect and with seven kids it would turn into a night mare. The only thing I would have thought of was renting stroller if they had the option.

These are great tips! We love going to water parks in summer, we do it a lot to stay cool! I need to get a water proof phone cover, that would make it much easier to take pictures and not worry about any splashing.
