October 21st marked TWELVE years of being married to the Love of my Life! I can hardly believe it has been that long. Time has just flown by!
Here we are six kids and 3 businesses later and I’m still getting butterflies in my stomach when I catch his eye from across the room (above the heads of our crazy children!).
When you have a big family and you are an entrepreneur, finding time to get away together as a couple can be difficult. But this year I was determined to make it happen. Even if it meant just 23 hours of alone time!
You don’t have to go far to find a beautiful retreat and getaway when you live in Houston.
The Woodlands Westin Resort was the perfect way to spend our quick weekend getaway!
The rooms are beautiful and clean. I am obsessed with their light & bright decorations. I would love to have white duvet cover someday that is just as soft and comfortable!
The Westin found out it was our anniversary and wanted to make sure our celebration was even more memorable. They left this beautiful plate of chocolate covered strawberries for us! I was in chocolate heaven!
The views of the waterway behind the Westin are stunning. We decided a quiet walk was on the itinerary and spent a part of our day right outside of the hotel enjoying the beautiful day.
I am often not in photos due to the fact I am the one taking the pictures. But Jon made me stop and he snapped a few pictures of me during our walk
If it had been just a bit warmer we would have spent some time in the gorgeous pool and jacuzzi on the balcony. It is just so serene and relaxing. The water looked like glass.
We didn’t have to go far to find the most delicious food and drinks!
The first thing you smell when you walk into the Westin is the beautiful aroma of Starbucks coffee. I am always in the mood for coffee!
SideBar is an an elevated indoor and outdoor area. It’s balcony wraps around to the pool area which makes it especially romantic in the evening.
CURRENT features a chef-driven menu with local, fresh ingredients. The restaurant has direct access to The Fountains at Waterway Square where you can often find local musicians playing.
It was truly an amazing, albeit quick, getaway!
Let me just encourage you other couples with little ones and businesses reading this…
MAKE TIME! Find a way to do those quick getaways. Even if it’s less than 24 hours and just a few miles form home… It’s worth every precious second of time spent together with the person you love most!
And if you happen to live near or are going to be traveling to The Woodlands, you absolutely need to stay at The Westin!
Happy Getaways,
Keikilani
