Let’s all join in solidarity and raise our cups of coffee to all the moms who survive the Mom Life because of coffee!!!
I’ve always enjoyed cup of coffee, latte, or frappe on occasion. The smell of coffee is something wondrous!
But… When I had kids…. Coffee became a necessary ingredient of the day and lead me to a coffee addiction of epic proportions!
I have learned a couple of “Coffee Hacks” that every mom needs to know!
Today I am passing on my (ahem) WISDOM to you.
NUMBER ONE:
Save money on your coffee habit and print off some coupons!
Savings.com is my go-to place for printing off coupons. And I was super excited to see they have a great coupon for my current favorite, Community Coffee! This coffee is four generations creating high-quality, great tasting coffee. The company was founded in 1919 and was devoted out of inspiration of the people around them. I love family companies that use sustainable farming and commit to serving their customers the very best, just as if they were family.
My current Community Coffee favorites are the House Blend and Dark Roast. The Dark Roast is really strong and robust.
Right now you can save $3 off two bags of Community Coffee! You can print your coupon by clicking below and redeem it at H-E-B! You may spot me there stocking up more for myself!
NUMBER TWO:
Ran out of creamer? No Problem! Use a sealed mason jar to froth milk and make a latte.
I can’t tell you how many times I have forgotten to buy more creamer at the store. For some reason, my grocery needs are always forgotten on the list!
But this little hack is so easy! Just heat up some milk in a glass mason jar, seal tight with a lid, shake hard for 1-2 minutes (you can totally count this as an arm workout!), and pour into your coffee! Bam! Latte!
NUMBER THREE:
Made a full pot and forgot to drink it? Don’t dump that precious liquid down the drain! Pour into ice cube trays and freeze for an easy iced coffee pick-me-up during the afternoon slump. Put 4-5 coffee ice cubes in a cup and fill the glass with milk. It will melt in to a delicious iced coffee in no time!
NUMBER FOUR:
Throw your used coffee grounds into your garden or flower bed!
Listen, I don’t know all the science behind it, but I do know that the flowers and garden plants LOVE coffee as much as I do!
NUMBER FIVE:
Think coffee when you are craving a quick dessert.
After I put the kids to bed and I finally have a minute to myself… the cravings for a something sweet, just for me HIT! They hit hard! But I do not want to do any more cooking and dishes… NO more dishes!
My go-to quick dessert indulgence is two ingredients complicated.
MOCHA AFFOGATO
- 2 scoops Chocolate Ice Cream
- 3-4 oz. Hot, Strong brewed Community Coffee (I like Dark Roast for this)
Scoop your ice cream into a glass or mug and pour the hot coffee over the ice cream. It melts quickly into the perfect creamy-coffee-chocolatey deliciousness.
Trust me. You will congratulate yourself on the amazing dessert you created in less than 5 minutes and there is practically NO clean-up needed!
Have a little Mom Time Out, put your feet up and enjoy your fancy Mocha Affogato.
I hope these hacks inspire you and your coffee obsession. Remember, you are an awesome mom no matter how many times you heat up your cup of coffee!
Happy Drinking,
Keikilani
I have made coffee ice cubes a few times. That is such a great hack.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried community coffee before. I want to try this recipe for sure.
Looks like a great recipe and some good hacks. I’ll have to share this with a few family members. I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but have many family members who love coffee.
This looks super yummy! I love my coffee in the morning, and will have to try this!
I generally drink my coffee all morning and just use creamer. I will try out some of these hacks to change it up once in a while.
These are great hacks, I am a huge fan of iced coffee so making ice cubes to freshen up a drink would be great too. Also, coupons are great ways to shop and stock up.
I can’t survive a morning without my coffee. I love all your tips but especially like the mason jar idea to come to the rescue when you are out of creamer.
Coffee and ice cream–there’s no better combination! I have tried a few of your hacks, like using coffee grounds in my garden. But this coffee lover still has so much to learn.
I’ve heard about the coffee grounds in the garden trick but I’ve never tried it. I’ll have to start saving up my coffee grinds and give it a try.
These are awesome hacks! As a huge coffee lover, I could definitely use these hacks!
I’m not a huge coffee drinker but these are some great hacks!
