I don’t believe it is a coincidence that all of my children have inherited my sweet tooth and love for all things chocolate! There are frequent requests for me to stock their favorite candies in our pantry to have on hand for family movie nights, special treats & snacks, and just in general “sneaking.”
M&Ms are at the top of our favorite list, but I recently discovered Maltesers. Whoa! These are so addicting!
They have been popular in the UK for 80+ years and they are now in the USA! They have a crispy, airy center and are wrapped in smooth chocolate. Talk about easy to pop in your mouth!
This past shopping trip to H-E-B we used our coupon from Savings.com which is a printable coupon for a free Theater Box of Maltesers with the purchase of any Theater Box of M&Ms. (Click Link Below for your coupon!)
Jimmy and I were the first to “taste test” the Maltesers and we decided they would be a perfect milk shake!
If you are looking for an easy way to get the kids in the kitchen, making smoothies and milkshakes are the easiest and most kid-friendly recipes to use when cooking with kids.
This is what I call an “Eye-ball” recipe. Meaning, you kinda just go for what feels right and adjust amounts to how many people/kids you are serving.
Ingredients we used:
- 1 Theater Box Maltesers
- 2 cups of Milk
- 1 cup of Ice
- Approximately 5 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream
I let Jimmy add all the ingredients to the blender. I made sure the lid was secure. (I speak from experience…. This is ESSENTIAL to do!) And he hit the buttons to blend it smooth.
I think the noise of the blender is a more effective way of calling the mass of children in my home than me standing at the stairs yelling! As soon as they heard the whirring of the blender they all came barreling down the stairs.
We made quick work of serving out the milkshakes and topped off most of them with a few more Maltesers before they were consumed.
The unanimous vote was that is was amazing and delicious! And there was a small scuffle of little chubby fingers reaching to grab the last of the Maltesers on the platter.
If you haven’t tried Maltesers yet, and you are a candy loving family like ours, check out your Valpak envelope later this month for even more savings!
