Right now we have one vehicle that can fit our big family of 8! Not one seat is empty in our Ford Expedition. (A fact my husband points out frequently when he thinks I may be getting baby fever!)
It is really important to me that our family vehicle is running excellently and that we are safe on the road.
Recently, I noticed some shaking in the steering wheel when I applied the brakes to our SUV. I pointed it out to my husband and he suggested I take it in for a brake inspection.
Now, let’s be a little honest. Most of the time I do not like taking our vehicles anywhere for anything. I often feel that because I am a women I am either taken advantage of or talked down to because the mechanic assumes I don’t know anything.
Granted… I have not taken it upon myself to learn all the things related to vehicle repair and maintenance, but I absolutely have common sense and am more than capable of learning what terms and parts mean!
I have seen several Christian Brothers Automotive businesses here in Texas and several friends had recommended them to Jon and I.
I was really happy to hear that they will do a FREE Brake Inspection!
Every Christian Brothers Automotive offers a complimentary brake check and courtesy inspections for staying safe and road-ready! This is really awesome with our busy fall schedules and the cooler weather coming up.
Truth is, if our brakes are not functioning properly, then our family and others on the road have a high risk of an accident. I love that Christian Brothers offers free brake inspections.
I set my appointment for first thing in the morning after dropping the kids off at school.
They got my SUV right in and I waited in a very clean, comfortable lobby. They even offered coffee and snacks which, if I had to have brought the kids would have been a life-saver!
Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The manager came and explained exactly what they were looking for and what they were inspecting. He also asked what my concerns were and if there were any other problems they could look at.
They visually inspected the major systems on my vehicle, including:
- Instrument clusters and gauges
- Manufacturer-scheduled maintenance
- Parking brake
- Timing Belt
- Drive belts
- Brakes, rotors, and caliper
- Fluids
- Radiator and hoses
- Battery
- Engine Oil
- Headlights and taillights
- Tires
- Alignment
- and SO MUCH MORE!!!
I did not have to worry about them performing any services on my car without my permission. They checked in with me twice to let me know about the status of my vehicle as well as explain any issues they found.
After the inspection was completed, they came to talk with me about the brakes and showed me an example of how worn down my brakes were. I was given a full print out of the inspection as well as a quote for service if I chose to use them for my brake replacement.
Christian Brothers has more than 190 locations across 27 states. Building relationships with their customers is top priority and they make it their mission to “love our neighbors as ourselves – and care for them by taking care of their cars.”
I love supporting business that take an active part in serving in their communities and giving back.
We will be headed back soon to replace our brakes that needed repair. Their Warranty is really amazing. 2 years/24,000 miles – Whichever Benefits You Most!
This means that if I take 3 years to put 24,000 miles on my car or if I put on 40,000 miles in 2 years, my warranty will still be valid at any of the Christian Brothers locations nationwide!
If you are concerned about your brakes or anything else in your vehicle, schedule an appointment for your FREE brake inspection at Christian Brothers this week!
Happy Driving!

It’s really cool that they give back to their communities! I do need to go in for an inspection before my next trip. I’ve had problems with brakes on the roads before and it’s so scary.

Making sure brakes are working properly is essential to protecting our families, especially our kids. This is sounds like great free public service for those who live locally near you.

I think I am not alone when it comes to getting something for free or a reduced cost. It is so important to have your breaks inspected and I love that this place will do it for free. Not to mention the ‘less than a hour’ is great for our scheduling.

That is awesome. I just made a road trip with my kids and wished I had gotten this done before hand. It was kind of nerve racking.

We have these locally, but I’ve never used them before. I make my husband take our cars in for everything because I hate the way other places try to fool me into buying things I don’t need for the car. This is very good to know if I need to do it myself.

How awesome that you were able to get a free brake inspection! I love when businesses offer this. Where I live you have to pay for the inspection.
