May is Foster Care Awareness Month. As a former foster mom with children who are former foster kids, I am passionate about using this month (and every other month) to drive awareness to the children who spend too much of their lives in the foster care limbo.
This post is all about supporting the teens who come into foster care. It’s easy to gush and give to the cute babies who are placed in homes. I have several posts on ideas for supporting foster parents with babies. But this is all about focusing on the teen girls who find themselves in a strange home with nothing.
This month I am creating Makeup Bags for teen girls who come into foster care. Wet N’ Wild MegaGlo makeup is the perfect makeup to include in their makeup bags!
I used Wet N’ Wild since I was a teenager myself. It’s the perfect way to help a girl feel beautiful, glowing, and confident. I still use the Mega Glo Highlighter which gives a soft, natural glow. I’m in my mid 30s and I am all about using this highlighter with light-catching pearls to give me a luminous look.
Makeup is one way I express myself and help myself to feel confident. I hope that the makeup bag I make helps a young girl who has been through so much, be able to express herself and feel so much confidence!
I picked up everything I needed at Walmart and saved $1 using the coupon below.
I recommend filling your bag with the entire line of Wet N Wild Mega Glo and a few other items.
- Mega Glo Highliter
- Mega Glo Brightening Rocks
- Mega Glo Eyeshadow Trio
- Mega Glo Lip Gloss
- Mega Glo Face Mist
- and Perfume Roller
- Nail File
- Hair Ties
- Makeup Wipes
The ones often looked over need the most love and support in our foster care system. I hope this post encourages you to take the time to invest in the lives of the children in your community who need a little extra love and support.
If you do not know of a foster family who is accepting teenagers, you can drop off your makeup bags at your local foster closet or foster care agency. They will be more than happy to hand out these simple bags of love & confidence.
