Summer is HERE! This is not a drill!
School is out and I have been visiting Burkes Outlet regularly to stock up on all the summer essentials!
I plan on our summer being full of swimming, mini road trips, backyard BBQs, water fights, crafts & books, picnics, lounging outside, & a vacation thrown into the mix!
First thing on the list was to buy new swimsuits for the kids. The swimsuits from last year are in sad shape and we spend as much time as possible in the water to combat the heat and boredom of summer.
I found the twins these adorable palm tree suits. They love to match and squealed with delight when they saw them.
Jayden was thrilled to have black & red board shorts (his favorite colors) and I was thrilled with the price of less than $10!
Burkes Outlet had a large assortment of goggles, floaties, & water toys and everything you need for the beach & pool. We are planning a trip to the beach this summer, so this body board was a perfect find at only $7.99. Also an easy toy to toss in the trunk and bring with you to the pool too!
On the topic of clothes I picked up these adorable rompers for the girls. Burkes Outlet has such cute options for little girls. I picked up the unicorn & kitty purses for the girls birthdays from Burkes Outlet and they don’t go anywhere without them.
The beach towels were soft, huge and very affordable. I love a huge beach towel! The twins loved their new swimsuit and the beach towels are so big they it can wrap around them both. Which of course, they thought was hilarious!
When we are not at the pool or beach we are spending our summer days in our backyard. We just finished building our DIY pallet bar and I wanted some decorations that could easily be added to decorate the bar as well as be functional when we had guests.
Burkes Outlet had a lot of galvanized decor that worked perfectly with the look I wanted. I added a cute lantern that can interchange a candle or a faux plant inside and a few succulent plants with vibrantly colored pots for pops of color.
The handled galvanized tool caddy works perfectly to corral napkins, plate, & silverware. And a galvanized tray is great for holding drinks, cups, or condiments. (Don’t mind the chalk art on the windows… I also picked up sidewalk chalk at Burkes Outlet and the girls, ahem, went crazy! LOL)
I kept eyeing the racks of outdoor cushions. The colors are so fun and pretty. We are replacing some of our outdoor furniture, but I can guarantee you I will be back in a few weeks to bring in all the color with seat cushions and pillows.
The last summer essential for our backyard was outdoor games. The kids were so excited when I found this cute flamingo corn hole set! They had a popsicle one too. Such a fun and easy game for both kids and adults.
And my boys don’t know it yet, but I picked up squirt guns for their dad and I and we plan on ambushing them one day when they are playing outside and least expect it! HAHAHA!
I was able to go to the grand opening of the new Burkes Outlet in Maplewood. The store was beautiful and full of such amazing finds for the whole family. If you haven’t been to a Burkes Outlet yet, you need to find one close to you and go! And don’t worry, if there is not one close to you, you can still shop online.
