Finding Tween Boys Jeans at Macy's

Can someone please, tell my boys to stop growing? The oldest two are 11 & 9 and every time I turn around, something no longer fits!

Finding jeans that not only fit, but they want to wear has proved to be a bit of a challenge lately. And I am not going to lie, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a pair of jeans they are going to grow out of in 10.8 seconds!

Tween boys are not as easy to shop for as the little boys.

My two oldest boys are not as easy to shop for as the two middle boys who are just seven years old. The middle boys will wear just about anything and are happy with whatever mom picks out still. This is no longer the case with the oldest two. And I have learned these tips for finding great jeans for tween boys.

Tips for finding great Jeans for tween boys

Ask them what they don’t like or do like about the jeans they have

First step, find out why they won’t wear what they have in their closet or what they do like about the jeans that used to fit. It may take a moment to get them to communicate what they really like, but keep at it momma! I want to know BEFORE I go to the store what they are actually interested in wearing. Because, let’s face it, if they don’t like it… they won’t wear it!

Take them to the store for a try on session

I know with all of the opportunities to order online it may have been a while since you actually went to Macy’s with your kids and did a try on session. This is a good time to head into the store and let them peruse the Levi’s jeans and choose several styles and sizes to try on.

Create an outfit or look that makes them feel good

While it sometimes seems that these tween boys don’t care what they look like, I discovered that they actually really do! In fact, when they have an outfit that makes them feel good about themselves they really take pride in how they look.
Side note: just don’t call what you put together an “outfit.” I am not sure what word is acceptable, but apparently “outfit” is not! HA!

Take advantage of sales & only purchase good quality jeans

While cheap jeans are tempting, they are just not worth it. Inevitably they will not survive the wash or my rough boys.

I keep watch for great sales like Macy’s Kids Levi’s Apparel sale going on this week. Since we have already been in store and tried on several pairs of jeans, I know exactly what to order the boys.
