Easy Instant Pot Cinnamon Applesauce
Applesauce is a beloved food in our home. It’s one of the few pureed foods you eat as a baby that you continue to eat through your childhood and even as an adult. I began making homemade cinnamon apple sauce when the kids were just babies. This quick & easy Instant Pot Cinnamon Applesauce is tried and true. And you can’t beat how the Instant Pot reduces the time to just mere minutes to make it.
If you have not taken the plunge into an Instant Pot for your own kitchen, I HIGHLY recommend getting one. I waited so long to jump on the Instant Pot band wagon. My family got me one for Christmas last year… And I was so happy to finally have it in my appliance arsenal.
I have the 8 quart Instant Pot because #BIGFAMILY. You know I would overload the 6 quart way too often.
This recipe is perfect for any size Instant Pot because it doesn’t make a huge batch. It’s easy to double the recipe if you do want more, but I have found that making it in small batches takes barely any time and also keeps the applesauce from spoiling if we don’t eat it fast enough.
You can keep the cinnamon applesauce in the fridge for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to 6 months. I am not so “Suzy Homemaker” that I can tell you anything about canning this recipe…. I defer to Martha Stewart.
Quick & Easy Instant Pot Cinnamon Applesauce
Ingredients
- 3 lbs Apples (any variety) peeled, cored, & quartered
- 2 tbsp Apple Juice
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp Cloves
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar optional
Instructions
- Add all ingredients in Instant Pot and stir to coat apples with spices.
- Secure lid and seal the pressure valve.
- Set to pressure cook for 5 minutes.
- Carefully, release pressure when cooking time is done and remove applesauce to cool in a heat safe container.
This Instant Pot Cinnamon Applesauce recipe will produce what I refer to as “rustic” sauce. Kind of, chunky. If you prefer your applesauce smooth just puree the apples with an immersion blender or scoop into an upright blender and pulse until your preferred consistency is achieved.
