I am so excited about Thanksgiving! I have the Thanksgiving Table Scape all laid out on our formal dining room table and it just makes me happy every time I walk by!
Honesty is taking over at the moment to admit to you that in years past I have not decorated the table for Thanksgiving with as much fanfare as this year. That is mostly due to my plethora of children who, up until this point, have been very young, clumsy, and it was just not a realistic thing to put a lot of fragile items anywhere near their vicinity!
This year, I am hosting Thanksgiving at my house and my brother, sister and brother-in-law are coming to celebrate with us. To say I am excited is an understatement!
I went all out with new platters, floral arrangements, candles and more (from Burkes Outlet of course!) and am very happy with how it has turned out. Even the kids are excited for the “fancy” table!
The kids will have special Printable Thanksgiving Placemats just for them to keep them entertained while the adults linger over the ridiculous spread of side dishes and turkey.
I have simple tips to keep Thanksgiving stress-free and a list of “Must Have” kitchen tools before attempting all the delicious creations you plan on making in your kitchen.
Our Thanksgiving Menu:
- Smoked Turkey
- Gravy
- Mashed Potatoes (kept warm in the crockpot and leftovers are turned into Gnocchi)
- Stuffing
- Cranberry Relish
- Honey Roasted Butternut Squash & Cranberries with Feta
- Dinner Rolls
- Classic Green Bean Casserole
Dessert will most definitely be later in the day and will be my Mother-in-Law’s Pumpkin Pie, Apple Crisp, and possibly something chocolate!
I didn’t even tell you about the appetizers we make on Thanksgiving to snack on while we wait for dinner! A charcuterie board, stovetop saucy little sausages, and most likely a hot dip.
Is it obvious our family loves food? HAHAHAHA!
I am looking forward to having my sister cooking with me again. She is one of my favorite people in the world to cook with. We just vibe so well in the kitchen. I know the entire week is going to be packed with delicious food. I will for sure be sharing all the “drool-worthy” dishes on Instagram. So make sure you are following along!
